YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE; BUT WHAT YOU THINK, YOU ARE

THOUGHTS ARE THINGS Yes they are, and very powerful things at that!

Okay folks, looks like most of you missed the comma. YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE (semicolon, or pause) So many people have either a much higher or much lower opinion of themselves than is realistic.


BUT WHAT YOU THINK (comma)... YOU ARE. In other words, you think positive things, you are likely a positive person... and vice versa. The substance of your thoughts will create the person that you are.


... and I'll even go a few steps further... most of the negative thinking I've engaged in and seen others around me engage in turned out to be nothing more than HABIT! And here's where my firm belief in the power of positivity comes in. Countless studies have shown that positive thinking actually helps your body to heal. Your brain secretes special hormones (or "chemicals" if you prefer) with things like laughter, affection, even just smiling... these chemicals cause the body to send more focused healing energies to any area of injury or illness (i.e. increased circulation, antibodies, etc.)

One would agree 100% with this on the psychoimmunology theory. When they cut my cancer out, they found that my body had actually killed off some of the cancer cells - something I hadn't known possible before. I put it down to positive thinking & a good immune system. It's also been proved that people who get stressed out, suffer from more infections, like colds. The body uses up all its vitamin supplies fighting the stress, lowering the immune system, so more colds etc.

But some people don't see us the way we see ourselves too.
